For the record, I successfully defended my dissertation December 12th. I have a running joke with my wife about how human nature is to think that when such and such happens, then I will be happy. After completing my defense I smiled and told my wife, Now I’m happy. Since my defense I’ve made it passed the grammar Nazi and the other hoops. I’m just waiting for signatures for one last form. Of course, like life is, I’m not any less busy now that I’ve defended. The only difference is that I now have 8 projects all more or less equally competing for my time instead of having one obvious first priority.
